Your new ergonomic office chair: Sit healthier and in style.

Ergonomic office chairs are designed to enable a natural and healthy posture when you're sitting at a desk. It relieves areas of the body that are particularly affected by prolonged sitting, especially your spine. This can prevent complaints such as back pain or tension.

The human body isn't designed for prolonged sitting. Spending many hours a day in the same position can often lead to tension in the shoulders and neck or back pain at your desk. An ergonomic office chair supports healthy sitting posture and can help prevent these issues.

Your ergonomic office chair isn't just an average swivel chair - after all, it has much more to offer than just a base and a height-adjustable seat. When choosing your chair, you should make sure that your product has an adjustable backrest with head and lumbar support, 3D armrests, and synchronous mechanism.

Adjust the seat height so that your upper and lower legs form a right angle and your feet are flat on the floor. The armrests are correctly adjusted when your forearms rest comfortably at a 90-degree angle. The lumbar support should be positioned at the level of your lumbar spine, and you can use the seat depth adjustment to adapt the seat surface to your leg length.

A good office chair is the foundation, but even with the best chair, constant sitting is not healthy. It is important to change your position regularly. An ideal solution is the combination with a height-adjustable desk: this allows you to switch between sitting and standing and bring more movement to your desk.

That depends on how many hours you spend sitting each day and the level of comfort you're looking for. The Chair Lite is an excellent entry-level ergonomic option, while the Chair Plus comes with a headrest and 4D armrests. The Chair Essential and Chair Classic combine stylish design with everyday comfort, while the Chair Pro features a high backrest and headrest. For maximum adjustability, the Chair Expert is the best choice. You can find all the differences in the comparison table above.

In principle, all Yaasa office chairs are suitable for the home office – which one suits you best depends on how long you sit daily, which functions are important to you, and which look you prefer. If you only work from home occasionally, a compact model like the Chair Lite is often sufficient. If you regularly spend several hours at your desk, you will benefit from additional adjustment options such as adjustable seat depth, headrest, or 4D armrests, as offered by the Chair Plus, Chair Pro, or Chair Expert. If your workspace is part of your living area, aesthetics also count: with their simple design in black or white, all models blend harmoniously into your interior – the Chair Essential was even awarded the German Design Award for this.

If you sit for many hours every day, you need more adjustment options. The Chair Plus offers a wealth of features at an attractive price, including a headrest, 4D armrests, and a height- and depth-adjustable padded lumbar support. The Chair Pro provides additional support with a high backrest and adjustable resistance – even during hours of concentrated work.

For very long periods of time in front of the screen, we recommend the Chair Pro and the Chair Expert. Both feature a high backrest, a headrest, and a finely adjustable backrest resistance that relieve strain on the neck, shoulders, and back.

For high ergonomic requirements, the Chair Expert is the best choice. With a padded lumbar support, headrest, and a tilt function that also moves laterally, it supports active sitting. If you have existing back problems, it is worth discussing your choice of chair with a doctor or physiotherapist.

If several workstations are to be equipped to the same standard, Chair Classic and Chair Pro are a good choice for everyday office life, while Chair Pro and Chair Expert are ideal for teams with intensive screen work. The lumbar support stabilizes the lower back and promotes a natural sitting posture. On most Yaasa office chairs, it can be adjusted in height, and in the Chair Plus, also in depth. On the Chair Plus and Chair Expert, it is additionally padded. The Chair Lite has a fixed lumbar support. More on this in our guide to lumbar support.

The number indicates how many directions the armrests can be adjusted in: The Chair Lite has 2D armrests, the Chair Essential, Classic, and Pro have 3D armrests, and the Chair Plus and Chair Expert have 4D armrests.

A headrest relieves strain on the neck muscles, especially if you lean back occasionally or sit for very long periods. For shorter periods of sitting, it is not a must. Chair Plus, Chair Pro, and Chair Expert are equipped with a headrest.

With the rocking function, the backrest moves with you when you lean back – keeping you active even while sitting. For all Yaasa office chairs, the tilt and, depending on the model, the backrest resistance can be adjusted. The Chair Expert also adapts to your side-to-side movements.
