Yaasa x Cooltours: Villa charm meets modern functionality

Cooltours is the go-to travel provider for school and language trips. Since 1999, the company has been supporting schools and young people on educational, project-based and cultural trips in Austria and abroad, enriching students with unforgettable travel experiences that include language learning and knowledge transfer.

Cooltours’ travel programs are planned from its headquarters in Graz, which was newly occupied and furnished in October 2024. As part of the renovation, the team expressed a desire to switch to height-adjustable furniture. We were delighted to support them in furnishing the office spaces in the renovated villa.

In total, 23 workstations were equipped with electrically height-adjustable and ergonomic furniture, including storage solutions and office chairs.

Interior planning, project process & product selection

Planning for the project began as early as April 2024. While searching for a suitable partner to furnish an office for around 25 employees, Florian Wind, Managing Director of Cooltours, and his team came across our offering. Shortly afterwards, we had the pleasure of welcoming Cooltours to our Yaasa headquarters in Lannach for an initial meeting.

This gave them a more detailed impression of each Yaasa product and the functionality required. In close collaboration, requirements, wishes and design options were discussed in detail until a solution was found that was convincing both functionally and aesthetically. In October 2024, the building was ready for move-in and office furnishing.

The main workstations were furnished to match the elegant interior design with the timeless Desk Essential in white and in the size 160x80. At the entrance to the main office stands a 180 cm Desk Pro with a white frame combined with a solid oak wood tabletop. Depending on individual needs, either the Chair Classic or the more flexible Chair Expert with headrest was also used. Each workstation was complemented by matching Yaasa Cable Management, supporting the tidy and clean look of the space.

Switching to adaptive furniture

Previously, the team had worked at fixed desks. The main drivers for the change were health-related factors and the lack of movement options, which led a large proportion of employees to express the desire for height-adjustable furniture. This allows them to change position several times throughout the day, offering full flexibility for different types of tasks.

Before the move, several providers were compared. However, the decision in favor of Yaasa was ultimately made after the visit to our headquarters in Lannach. The choice was based not only on the quality of the products, but on the overall package of consultation, service, material quality and cost-effectiveness.

Conclusion: one year with Yaasa

The Managing Director of Cooltours Reise GmbH also shared his conclusion after using the products. The functionality of the furnishings is used regularly and actively by all employees, and switching several times a day between sitting and standing noticeably brings more dynamism into the working day.

Work quality has also improved: many daily tasks can now be completed with greater focus, while team motivation has also increased.

As Yaasa, we are especially pleased that another aspect we place great importance on was also highlighted positively: despite the fast adjustment speed, the noise level when moving the desks up and down remains very low. This is a clear advantage, especially in working environments where acoustics and uninterrupted work play an important role.

This project shows how the charm of a historic building and modern workplace design can be successfully combined. The new furnishings created not only a cohesive spatial concept, but also brought more dynamism into everyday work. The result is a solution that is both functionally and aesthetically convincing in the long term.
